Mary Walker Baron was born in the Arizona State Prison where her grandfather, A. G. Walker, served as warden. His passion for social justice and social reform was passed down to his granddaughter. As a social worker - licensed in the states of California, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York - Mary has devoted her career to indigent often homeless mentally ill adults and children. Her clinical specialty is crisis response and intervention.
Mary has written several screenplays all optioned for production. Her articles have appeared in both local and national newspapers and magazines. She is an award winning educator and a sought after facilitator and speaker.
Although she has never lived on a remote island in the South Pacific, Mary has on more than one occasion proven to herself that any landing you can walk away from is, if not perfect, at least good enough.
Her two published novels are Contrary Creek
and But This Is Different
She is currently working on self help books incorporating her skills as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, another novel, and a story for children.
